Brian Howard, Life Member and former SOS Chairman, passed away in April 2023. Brian was Southampton Operatic Society’s Business Manager from 1974-83 and then Chairman from 1983-91.
He had other roles behind the scenes and continued helping out with Front of House for many years.
Back in 1983 SOS decided to take The Mikado to Bad Ischl in Austria. There were 3 coaches full of SOS members, scenery and the Southampton Orchestra! Brian’s notes from the time are an interesting record of one of the highlights of SOS history!
